Yves-Marie Rault-Chodankar
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and a researcher at the Prodig laboratory (UMR 8586). My research explores the backstage of globalization through the study of technological production, industrial systems, and urban transformations in India and across the Global South. Drawing on fieldwork on sectors such as the pharmaceutical industry, I examine how firms, infrastructures, and regulatory systems shape cities, territories, and global value chains. Situated at the intersection of economic geography and science and technology studies (STS), my work investigates what techno-objects and industrial processes reveal about territories – and how territories, in turn, shape technological systems.
